Support & Setup

Quick setup, plus troubleshooting if your issue isn’t NAT-related.

Setup (recommended wiring)

  1. Plug the StrictNATFix Box into power.
  2. Connect ISP modem/router → StrictNATFix Box (WAN).
  3. Connect Console → StrictNATFix Box (LAN) (or Wi‑Fi).
  4. Set the switch position: Gaming Mode toggle away from the reset button, Fast ISP Mode toggle close to the reset button.
  5. Reboot your console, then test party chat / joining friends.

Tip: If you use Wi‑Fi, try Ethernet first. Packet loss often looks like NAT problems.

Troubleshooting

My NAT still shows Strict / Type 3 / Type D

Common causes:

  • Console is not connected through the box (check cabling).
  • You’re connected to the wrong network interface (Wi‑Fi vs LAN).
  • Gaming Mode isn’t enabled / tunnel isn’t connected.
  • Double-NAT with another router can confuse some console tests.
I can’t join friends, but the network check says “OK”

It may be non‑NAT:

  • PSN/Xbox Live/game outage
  • Subscription issue (PS Plus / Game Pass)
  • Wi‑Fi jitter/packet loss
  • Game-specific matchmaking/servers

Use Check to re-run the symptoms + automatic test.
